George Franklin Dorsey, known simply as George, has been creating beautiful hairstyles for men, women and children for 40 years. His initial Cosmetology training was completed at Athens Technical College. He then enrolled in the Vidal Sasson Academy for his formal training and stays current and up to date in the latest techniques by continuing his education yearly. George loves putting texture into hair and developing fresh, vibrant styles. “I’m one of the few people who is allowed to actually touch and put hands on people; it’s a high honor.” He truly loves people and understands his business is less about how you look and more about how you feel. Franklin Dorsey Salon recently moved after 23 years in the same Buckhead location! Why the move? There was no choice, the building was torn down! Franklin Dorsey Ltd. is now located in the My Salon Suites at Brookwood at the corner of Peachtree Road NE and 28th Street NW in Buckhead! George is truly a Master, but more than that, he’s warm, welcoming and accommodating. He understands his clients lead busy lives and works to make himself available. Usually, with just a phone call, George is able to schedule appointments that cater to and consider his clients schedules, even if the time is unorthodox. Born in Elba, Alabama, George is the epitome of southern graciousness. He loves to bake and cook in his free time. One of five brothers, George has turned what was once just a way to gain favor with his mother into a full blown hobby. If George isn’t known for helping people look and feel their best, he’s known for crafting beautiful artwork! His medium of choice is calligraphy, he occasionally creates invitations for friends and loved ones. You can see examples of George’s work on the Calligraphy page.
